to be sure not to lose you
or anyone.

yet my deep down insides screamed,
“PLEASE!
let us surface — it won‘t hurt at all.”

Saw my life many years ahead
what I wanted to be, to do,
knowing full well my today-back-then
was doing nothing to take me there.

Met a woman who massaged me deep into my shoulder blades.
Said it’s like I’m protecting my heart from so much,
she could feel it in the crunchy muscle.
That’s why I always spoke so low, or not at all,
why I wanted so badly to believe in something,
but wasn’t brave enough to make up my mind
and proclaim it.

I always felt like I had so much to say,
so much to prove, to do, explore.
And I knew I wanted one thing: to be free ~~
All I had to do
was open up
my throat chakra.
